SSO: Role and Client Assignment in softgarden

This help article explains how to automatically assign roles and clients via SSO in softgarden.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

In addition to the basic Single Sign-On (SSO) setup via SAML 2.0, softgarden allows you to automatically assign user roles and clients (mandates) using claims. These advanced configurations are managed directly via your Active Directory (AD) or any other identity provider (IdP).

πŸ”§ Requirements & Configuration

To enable role and client assignment, we’ll need the following from you:

  • The claim names you'd like to use (e.g. role, companyname)

  • The possible claim values (e.g. softgardenadmin, softgardenrecruiter)

Once you've shared these details, they will be mapped accordingly within softgarden. Setup is done under: Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ Single Sign-On Role and Client Assignment

πŸ“Œ Good to know

  • Claims must be registered once by the softgarden team.

  • Users without a valid claim will be assigned the lowest system role and automatically linked to the main client.

  • Assigning multiple roles or clients to a user is possible.
